House at Monree

award winning RIBA Chartered practice

The house has been orientated to make the most of the sun and views, with canopies and galleries providing useful shelter.

A stair tower marks the entrance to the courtyard which provides a sheltered space, in contrast to the wild flower meadow and open fields beyond. The double height living room with oak trusses and an open fire has been raised up above the surrounding fields to take best advantage of the views.

Integrated photovoltaic slates and other low carbon technologies have been used to achieve a carbon neutral home.
